A good web hosting service goes for an average of $65 (about UGX 250,000/-). The good news is that most top web hosting providers offer a free .com domain to their first-time customers. This means when you buy web hosting from a web hosting company like Bluehost or Hostgator, you will get a free domain. 

I do not always encourage anyone to host their website or online store with local web hosting companies in Uganda because of their record of unprofessionalism, unreliability, and poor support. Look for a global hosting provider that is credible and reputable. 

When choosing a web hosting provider, go for a company that offers the following services:

  • 24/7 customer support
  • Offers features you need to run your online shop

  • Offers adequate storage and bandwidth
